Observation

On 3 September 2026 the Wikipedia article listed the main 9/11 conspiracy-theory families and pointed at Commission, NIST, State Department, Eagar, and Popular Mechanics as external sources.

Interpretation

A crowd-edited encyclopedia is a map of claims, not evidence that any claim is true or false. Load-bearing weight belongs to the linked primaries.

Source text

OBSERVATION (encyclopedia, 3 Sep 2026): The English Wikipedia article '9/11 conspiracy theories' groups claims into foreknowledge, WTC demolition, Pentagon missile/no-Boeing, Flight 93 shoot-down, hijacker-identity errors, foreign-government involvement, and no-planes/CGI. External links on the page as retrieved: 9/11 Commission Report; NIST WTC investigation; NIST WTC 7 Q&A; NIST NCSTAR 1A PDF; State Department 'Top September 11 Conspiracy Theories' (28 Aug 2006); Eagar, 'Why Did the World Trade Center Collapse?'; Popular Mechanics 'Debunking the 9/11 Myths'. Sister-project boxes (Commons, Wikiversity, Wikidata) added no extra primary text.

Already in this lab, so not re-ingested as new primaries: Commission Report, NIST NCSTAR 1 and 1A, NIST FAQ, Harrit et al. 2009, Poteshman 2006, AE911Truth/Gage, Steven Jones, CIT Pentagon claim, BBC hijacker-identity reports, Able Danger, Phoenix memo, PDB, put-option file.

New in this ingest: the encyclopedia page itself, Eagar 2001, Popular Mechanics 2005/06, State Department 2006.

INTERPRETATION: Wikipedia is a tertiary index. Its verdict language ('debunked') is editorial, not a measurement. Theory families it names are already hypotheses on this board (H001–H006, H011–H014). This row exists so the finding aid is inspectable and so new linked primaries can be scored beside it.

Hypothesis linkage

  • H003indeterminateseeded

Encyclopedia index of claims; not a measurement of fire vs explosives.

  • H004indeterminateseeded

Catalogues demolition claims; does not itself detect energetics.
