Who we are

EFI / 911 (Evidence Fusion Initiative) is an independent research site about the September 11 attacks, created by British researcher Moneypenny (@nic_moneypenny). For this notice the project operator is the data controller. You can reach us through the Get in touch form.

What we collect

If you write to us we store your name and email (required), and address, mobile number, and message if you choose to give them, plus the time of the message and a short reference number. We do not ask for payment details. We do not use your contact details to score questions on Fact or Fiction.

The site also stores technical logs needed to keep it running (for example, a record that a page was requested). We do not run advertising cookies or sell lists.

Why, and on what basis

We use contact details to read your message and, where we can, reply. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in running a research project that can receive sources, questions, and corrections, together with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) when you tick the box on the form. You can refuse the optional fields. You can withdraw consent later by writing to us.

We do not use this information for marketing, profiling, or automated decisions that have legal effects.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months, or longer if needed to deal with a complaint or a legal claim, then deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We do not publish contact forms as evidence. Hosting and database providers may process the data on our instructions. If the law requires us to hand something over, we will do only what is required.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, a correction, deletion, restriction, or to object. You can complain to us first using Get in touch. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
