Observation

MacQueen and Szamboti (2009) argue that a predicted deceleration jolt at collapse initiation is absent in the tower videos.

Interpretation

Absence of a predicted jolt, if the prediction is correctly derived, is a problem for that model. It is not by itself a positive identification of explosives.

Source text

Catalogued from journal index and Robinson 2024 citation. Technical claim against Bažant/NIST progression after initiation (H003 vs H004).

Hypothesis linkage

  • H003contradictsseeded

    Missing-jolt argument against crush-down initiation.

  • H004weakly supportsseeded

If the jolt prediction is right, fire-and-impact progression is incomplete.
