Observation

A WTC 1 employee in the basement described an explosion-like event at the time of the aircraft impact.

Interpretation

Basement event reports exist. Source (fuel/shaft vs charge) is not identified by the sensation.

Source text

OBSERVATION: Rodriguez reports a basement-level explosive event in WTC 1 at about 08:46. Other lobby/basement witnesses have described fireballs in elevator shafts.

INTERPRETATION A: jet-fuel/air down the shafts and pressure from the impact — predicted by some fire engineers.

INTERPRETATION B: a planted charge in the basement, implying demolition preparation (H004).

A single witness cannot distinguish these. Multiple independent basement reports raise the prior of a real basement event without identifying the source.
